Vitals: Casey Paul Fossum, 29 yo LHP. Born in Cherry Hill, NJ (a Philly 'burb). 6-1, 160. 35-47, 5.36 career. 3-3, 7.80 in 2007. $2.725 million salary.
Arsenal: Mid-80s fastball, low-80s slider, slow looping curveball. He'll also break out a form of the eephus pitch, a sllloow (mid-50s) breaking ball. Almost like a pitch you'd see in softball. Fossum's a junkballer, he throws less than 60% fastballs.
Recent Battles: Last May, in front of the smallest crowd in Safeco Field history, Fossum sailed through six innings, giving up only four singles and one run. But in the 7th, he allowed back-to-back singles to Johjima and Bloomquist, got pulled, and watched the Rays bullpen blow the lead.
Our Best Weapon: Beltre's 9-21 (.429) career vs. Fossum with two doubles and two home runs.
The Internet Says: The Devil Rays have the two worst major league starters not named Jeff Weaver. Both Fossum and Jae Seo, who the M's will face tomorrow, have an ERA of 7.80.
Miguel Batista (3-4, 6.15) goes for the M's. Gametime is 4:10 at Tropicana Field. TV: KSTW-11. Radio: KOMO-1000.

I work for one of the local dailies. Just wanted to say that I love your stuff. Glad to see you've struck out on your own.
I dig the site. Keep up the good work.
