In the pantheon of great Ichiro quotes, this may launch to number one. You'll remember that the Mariners have to make up all these games in Cleveland that were snowed out. One such game is tonight. And Ichiro is not particularly thrilled about it. He told the Seattle Times (as always, through an interpreter):

Ichiro is a pile of garbage. Cleveland use to be a horrible city to live in( I am from the Cleveland area), but the city has taken countless steps to bring the city back to being a people want to live and visit. i personally feel that they are doing a great job downtown is clean, safe and fun again with the Indians and Cavs doing well, the Browns possibly coming close if not having a winning season. So for Ichiro or anyone else to say Cleveland sucks is slap in everyone from Clevelands face...Now if we can just do something about the weather?

And "Tyler", you should lay off the HGH and beef roids dude. The dude just hates going to Cleveland. The Browns suck. The Indians will never win a World Series. The Cavs won't see game 6. The mistake by the lake just can't win anything that matters.

The guy has been in the league for 7 seasons and he can't even speak english? that speaks volumes move to a new country and never learn to speak the language. He does speak English. I've heard him utter a few snippets here and there, and it's functional at the very least, if not particularly elegant. I'll admit it's not the most fan-friendly way of dealing with the press. They use the exact same "talk to the translator" tactic at the U.N. Helps to cover your tracks (you can blame the poor middleman in case of a "misquote"). He's not ignorant or lazy, just aloof. Bit of a dick? Yes. Funny? Ah mais oui.
Cleveland is AWESOME. To here degrading comments from people from SEATTLE? Most fo you have probably never been there so you dont know. SO as far as I am concerned I want all of you to stay in Seattle and hang out in the Rain, cheer for the supersonics, ha mersh, when are they moving to a better city like Juneau. I have lived in Cleveland all my life and I can say without a doubt that it Sucks big time. This is one of the worst cities in the world.If Tyler would take off his rose colored glasses he would see that downtown is neither clean or safe. The mayor is an idiot and everyone else has their hands in your pocket.The teams here may win during the season but they"Always" choke when they get to the finals. Cleveland Ohio SUCKS
