Out in rightfield, the age range was from about 25-35. Hardly any kids, hardly any middle-aged people. We were grownups, but we'd all grown up with Griffey, and that's why we were out there. He did some playful waving to the crowd, which was fun, but what I'll remember is the ovation when he was introduced--the loudest and longest ovation I've ever heard for anyone, anywhere, it went on in wave after wave for five minutes and was, for me at least, catharsis for having lost Griffey in the first place.

It was a great moment. And credit to Seattle fans for not being stingy with the applause. That was everything that's good about baseball. I'm 32 and share your appreciation for everything he did, and fortunately, continues to do in Cincy.
I cried.
thank you
