Seattle Sports: In the Morning

Don't blame Weaver--impatient hitters threw him under the bus in an 11-7 loss.
Angels lose, Indians win. M's 51-38, 2nd place, 3 GB (2 GB of CLE for WC).

Ichiro got hit just above the knee with a high-90s Justin Verlander fastball yesterday. X-rays were negative, and Ichiro will play today if he can.

M's are working on a contract extension for Jose Guillen.

Green goes for 32/13, but Sonics lose again, finish summer league 0-5.

Nate Robinson (Rainier Beach) is Summer League MVP. Aaron Brooks (Franklin) is rookie of the month. Rodney Stuckey (Kentwood) and Spencer Hawes (Seattle Prep) all made the first-team. REPRESENT!

Jon Brockman was cut from the US Pan Am games team, but Wazzu's Derrick Low and Kyle Weaver, and Oregon's Bryce Taylor and Marty Leunen made the 14-man roster. (Leunen over Brockman? Really?)

The West lost the WNBA All-Star game.

Dave Villwock won the 99th Gold Cup in the Miss Elam.
