Broussard's homer brings M's back, they win 14-10.
Angels won, Indians lost, Yankees won. M's 57-46, 2nd place, 4 GB (2 GB of CLE for W.C., with NYY 2 GB of M's).
Ichiro got his 1500th hit in his 1060th game, he's third-fastest to get to 1500 hits behind Al Simmons and George Sisler. Asked about the record, it was classic Ichiro: "Unless I get to 1,500, I can't get 1,501. So in that sense, all numbers are important to me."
Star of the game: 1st base ump Mark Carlson, who tossed Richie Sexson. TNT's John McGrath says Broussard (known to M's players as "Bruce") belongs in the lineup.
Larry Stone says the M's are scouting Tampa Bay's Al Reyes, John Hickey says a trade for Octavio Dotel is in the works.
Sexson tells John Hickey (in notes section) why he got tossed so quickly: "I said 'You blew it.' I should never have said 'you.'"
Storm lost.
Dave Villwock, driving the Miss Ellstrom Elam Plus, won the hydro race in Tri-Cities this weekend, he's won all four races this year.
