Tonight's Target: Dan Haren

Eight months after his wedding to the former Jessica Valdez, Haren's registry at Pottery Barn still isn't sold out.

I'll be moved to purchase the Harens a 3x3 pillar candle, ivory ($5.00) if the groom continues his incongruous futility against the M's this year. He's 0-2 against the good guys.

Haren hasn't pitched poorly against the M's--his ERA is 2.19 in those two games, but the A's defense has allowed five unearned runs in the two starts (Opening Day, and July 6th)

He's 11-1 against the rest of the league.

Haren throws a mid-90s fastball, hard slider, and a nasty, nasty split-finger. Beltre hits him really well, 13-29 (.448) with two homers.
