1) Jeff Green is NBA-ready.
The draft's #5 pick averaged 14.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, shot 45% from the field, and had a monster 32/13 line in the last game.
2) Kevin Durant will not immediately lead the Sonics to the NBA championship.
The savior shot only 33%, and seemed to have trouble getting his shot off against the types of tall, speedy defenders he'll see plenty of in the NBA. He did get to the foul line a lot, though, drawing 46 foul shots in 5 games. (By comparison, it took Ray Allen 10 games to get 46 foul shots in 06-07).
3) Petro and Sene are atrocious.
The two combined to shoot 16-53--that's 30% folks--from your centers. Neither averaged more than five rebounds per game. Petro managed 1.4 blocks per game, which is ok, but consider the competition--here are some of the guys who averaged more than Petro: Wilson Chandler, Louis Amundson (the explorer?), Justin Williams, James Hughes. I could go on all day. Seriously, cut these guys.
4) Brandon Heath, Kenny Adeleke and Julius Hodge have a shot at making the team.
So says the News-Tribune's Eric Williams. Both Hodge and Heath had trouble with turnovers, but you figure that's a summer league thing. Adeleke averaged six points and seven rebounds in only 13 minutes per game. Zabian Dowdell, a guard who people were following because there were pre-draft stories about him in the blog True Hoop, shot 6-21 and had 3 assists in 5 games.
5) The Seattle Times is cheap.
The largest paper in the Northwest can't afford to lodge a reporter at, like, Circus Circus for a week? Really? The P-I, News Tribune, hell, even the blog Blazers' Edge had guys filing real-time reports and game wrap-ups. The Times covered game one, but after that had only wire reports. Pick it up, Times!

Seth-
Mentioning that you write freelance for the P-I is not 'full disclosure.' Telling us how much you make per article from the P-I is full disclosure. I'd say its more of an editor's note.
Good point, lohur
See the amended note/disclosure above.
I'm not quite sold on Jeff Green being NBA ready. Sure, he was great in the Summer League, but it is just the Summer League after all. You know who else had a great summer league showing? Nikoloz Tskitishvili.
Just to clarify, Tskitishvili was awesome in the 2004 Summer League.
