Alan Hahn, the wonderful Knicks writer for Newsday, has a terrific piece on Nate Robinson today.
The nut: "Is Little Man Nate, that diminutive whirlwind of egotism, finally growing up?"
Hahn reports that Robinson spent nearly the whole summer at the Knicks training facility, instead of returning to Seattle, and that he's studying the best to be the best.
"I was never a big fan of watching basketball, because it made me want to play," Robinson said. "But this year, I watched every playoff game. I watched the Spurs. I watched Tony Parker and I just watched how they run their team. I didn't watch nobody else, I just watched the point guards."Robinson says he's changed as a person. ""My whole attitude, my whole mind frame, has changed for some reason. I don't know why, it just happened," he tells Hahn.
Steve Nash was another study subject. "I watch how much he keeps his dribble. It's unbelievable," Robinson said. "It's like he never picks his dribble up, no matter what. If he picks it up, he passes the ball and moves. That's something I'm learning how to do even more to this day."
The Knicks' season opener is November 2 @ Cleveland.
