Adrian Beltre makes two errors that lead to four unearned runs, then comes up as the go-ahead run in the ninth and grounds into a double play to end the game. M's lose 5-3.
Angels lose, Yankees beat Tigers.
M's 73-54, 2nd place, 1 GB (1st in W.C., NYY 2 GB, DET 5 GB).
Griffey hit #591.
It was to be Weaver vs. Weaver on Tuesday, but the Angels changed their rotation so it wouldn't happen.
In that same notebook, Ken Levine will announce for the M's today, with Niehaus flying back to Seattle early.
Seahawks looked much better in beating the Vikings, though E.J. Henderson creamed Hasselbeck (who he injured last year) on consecutive plays.
Jake Locker--great athlete, good accuracy, amazing runner, terrific personality, born leader. So reports the Times' Bob Condotta in the--so far--definitive profile of the UW's "savior."
Storm play tonight at 4pm, they must win to force a deciding Game 3 vs. Phoenix. Game's on ESPN2.
Sounders host Charleston tonight at 5pm at Qwest Field.
