Bryce Fisher Traded, Charlie Frye Acquired

Big doings in Kirkland today, as the Seahawks have traded Bryce Fisher (to the Titans, for an as-yet-undisclosed draft choice) and acquired Charlie Frye (from the Browns, for a sixth-round pick).

Frye started for the Browns in their season-opening loss to the Steelers, he was 4-10 for 34 yards, threw an interception and was sacked five times.

Frye, in his third year out of Akron, has a 62.5 career completion percentage and a 71.2 career QB rating. (Hasselbeck, by way of comparison, has a 60.3 comp % and a 85.4 career rating).

This means that you'll see a lot more of Seneca Wallace at receiver.

Also, can anyone think of a time when a team traded its starting quarterback after week one? I sure can't.

Hat tip to Danny O'Neil's Seahawks blog.

Do you think that Mike Holmgren said "Championship!" right after the signing?
