Gooodbye, Lou!

Bummer news out of Husky camp, as beloved longtime Husky Stadium P.A. announcer Lou Gellerman is retiring effective immediately. Says Lou:

The fact is that my hearing just isn't as good as it once was and I don't feel that I can continue doing the job to the quality that Husky fans deserve.
Gellerman, a Husky Hall-of-Famer for his career as a rower, has been the P.A. guy at Husky Stadium since 1985.

Gellerman's best known for his once-a-game by-play with Husky fans.

Lou: "Hello, Husky Dawg fans."

Fans, en masse: "Hello, Lou!"

Although in recent years, Gellerman's been even more well known for "Louis Rankin carrying the ball. Gain of one."

Gellerman's interim replacement is Eric Radovich, who handles P.A. duties at Hec Ed.
