Les Miles Recaps the Week in Pac-10 Football

#1 USC 49, @ #14 Nebraska 31: So lemme get this straight--USC schedules one tough non-conference road game, and they throw the off-season, Idaho, and a bye in front of it. With nine and a half months to prepare, if they win by any less than 20 points, it's a disgrace. Ok, look, they only won by 18. What a joke.

@ Utah 44, #11 UCLA 6: You saw that UCLA fell out of the polls faster than a crawfish in a waterfall, but I kept them at #11 in my coaches' poll. Yesiree, I don't penalize UCLA for losing by 38 points at Utah--it's not easy to go into Rice-Eccles Stadium and come out with a victory. No sir. I mean, Air Force did it last week, but it must have been pure luck.

#10 Ohio State 33, @ Washington 14: I guess maybe beating the worst team in D1 and a team from the WAC doesn't mean shit after all! Well color me shocked.

New Mexico 29, @ Arizona 27: What's just so sad about this is that Arizona had their third-best passing day of all-time in this game and still lost. When will the Pac-10 learn that fancy forward passing only gets you so far. In this case, gets you just far enough to lose to New Mexico, which hadn't beat a Pac-10 team since 1979.

@ #8 Cal 42, Louisiana Tech 12
@ Oregon State 61, Idaho State 10
@ #19 Oregon 52, Fresno State 21
@ Arizona State 34, San Diego State 13
@ Stanford 37, San Jose State 0
@ Washington State 45, Idaho 28:
I'm willing to give credit where credit is due. Yes, Pac-10 teams are better than teams in the WAC and the Big Sky. Then again, so are most of the high school teams in Florida.
