Overheard walking away from Husky Stadium: "That Trenton Tuiasosopo...I wonder if he's related to Marques Tuiasosopo?"

So at least there was something to laugh about after we learned, once and for all, one important thing we'd suspected about Jake Locker:

He can't pass.

Not to say that he won't ever be able to pass--after all, he's a redshirt frosh--but right now he can't really make throws.

He can't throw outs, he can't throw deep balls, he can't throw timing routes.

Locker threw for less than 50%, and less than five yards per pass. The Huskies longest pass of the game was only 26 yards, and it was Carl Bonnell who threw it.

On the other hand, Locker is the best running quarterback Washington's ever had, and maybe one of the best ever. He was juking Ohio State linebackers--Ohio State linebackers!--like they weren't even there.

Locker ran for 102 yards, averaging 7.3 yards per carry. If Locker can get seven yards per rush and only five yards per pass, you have to ask whether maybe, instead of passing 33 times and running 14, maybe you ought to be running Locker 33 times and passing 14. (well, maybe not 33 times, but you get the idea.)

Hell, maybe, instead of running the spread option with Rankin as the RB and Locker as the QB, run it with Locker as the RB and Bonnell (who led a late touchdown drive) as the QB.

Ok, that's crazy talk, but it WOULD BE AWESOME.

The defense comes out looking bad on that stat sheet (OSU had 481 total yards), but played pretty well--especially in the first half, where they only score they allowed came after a drive got extended on a running into the punter penalty.

I think they just wore down at the end.

That said--when chances came for big plays, OSU made them and the Huskies didn't. The Buckeyes' All-American linebacker, James Laurinaitis, made two interceptions. The Huskies' Roy Lewis and Donald Butler had interceptions in their hands and didn't catch them.

Next week the Dawgs face UCLA at the Rose Bowl, it will be a fired up Bruin team after getting humiliated 44-6 by Utah.
