Seattle Sports: In the Morning

Down 7-1 in the 7th, M's rally for the 8-7 win! That's two in a row, for the first time since August 23rd and 24th.

Yankees lost, so M's are 5.5 back.

Jeff Weaver, who didn't get through the second, might be dropped from the rotation.

M's players would not welcome an HGH test.

Jose Lopez rode the pine again, and the Times' Geoff Baker thinks it's related to his brother's death.

Beware of J.J. Putz and his plastic dart gun (third item).

Ed Cunningham, center on the '91 Huskies, will call the Ohio State game for ABC. Says Cunningham, "If I was an Ohio State fan and I knew the broadcaster was from Washington, I'd be listening to every word."

Ohio State wins so much because they have Ohio on lockdown. Same's true for the Republican party.

And the award for most awkward attempt at a pop culture reference goes to Steve Kelley: "The last thing Bennett wants is more light shining in his eyes. In the spotlight he is about as graceful as Britney Spears dancing on MTV."

The Yankees' loss means the magic number for the Ms is 43 for the wild card.
