Former Arizona Cardinals starting QB Matt Leinart broke his collarbone in Sunday's win over St. Louis. He's out for at least a couple of weeks, maybe the season.
That makes Kurt Warner the starter. The Cards are looking for a backup--they don't have a third QB, and had Warner gone down, former Hawk receiver Jerheme Urban would've been the emergency QB.
Rumors that the Cards will try to lure Jake Plummer out of retirement are apparently false. Since coach Ken Whisenhunt was previously OC of the Steelers, and they are using his system, they'll look for former Steelers first, reports Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic.
