Garfield's Tony Harris Still Missing in Brazil

The P-I's Robert Jamieson is following the story of ex-Garfield and Wazzu b-baller Tony Harris, who's still missing in Brazil. Here's my original post.

The U.S. Embassy is on the case, interviewing and re-interviewing those who last had contact with Harris.

Some new information: Brazilian newspapers quote Harris' teammates as saying that he was acting erratically in the days before his disappearance, that he "said things that didn't seem very connected ... it was weird."

A Brazilian TV journalist may have discovered the last known sighting of Harris. Again, Jamieson:

A Brazilian television journalist covering the story told me Wednesday that witnesses reported seeing Harris on Nov. 7 in Bezerra, northeast of Brasilia. "People there told me that Tony was asking for money," said Camila Valadares, a reporter for Globo TV. "One woman told me that he bought cigarettes. Later, he came back to the same place and asked for food."

According to Globo, people in Bezerra saw Harris looking bedraggled and walking along a road.
The Times reported Wednesday that Harris' wife's stepfather is going to Brazil to search for him. Harris' wife, Lori, is due to give birth to the couple's first child in December.

Oy. We hope this ends well.
