Kevin Durant Thinks Texas Is Better Off Without Kevin Durant

After Texas' 7-0 start, including a win over UCLA, people are suggesting that the Longhorns may be the ultimate example of Bill Simmons' Ewing Theory. (You know, when a supposedly franchise player leaves and the team does better).

It's certainly debatable. One thing I didn't expect to see was agreement from Kevin Durant himself. In an interview with Sam Rubenstein of SLAM, Durant says:

They’re a much better team than we were last year. Hopefully as they get better they’ll get some recognition. Unlike we did last year. As far as a team, we weren’t ranked a lot. It’s good to see the recognition for them though.
I'm sure Durant means they are better because of the improvement of D.J. Augustin and A.J. Abrams. But still. The guy is certainly humble.
