Seattle Sports: In the Morning

The Bulls had been in a shooting slump, but they found the cure: Sonics defense! Bulls 123, Sonics 96.

Reactions to the Todd Turner firing: Turner himself, UW coaches, Bob Condotta, Art Thiel, Jerry Brewer, John McGrath (who suggests Chuck Nelson as a replacement).

Hiroki Kuroda, a Japanese pitcher the M's hoped to sign as a free agent, and who Bavasi and McLaren flew to Japan to recruit, will become a Dodger. Based on the past performance of Japanese pitchers coming to the U.S. (paging Hideki Irabu), can't say I'm torn up about this. UPDATE: Geoff Baker of the Times says Kuroda hasn't made up his mind.

He'd be a better investment than Jason Schmidt, no doubt. We'll take him.

And the Ms' quest to acquire someone--anyone--will continue...

It's amazing how fast that free agent market dries up.
