Seattle Sports: In the Morning

Washington beat Oregon 78-70, in one of the more entertaining basketball games I've seen. My thoughts.

Overton tells the P-I's Greg Johns about his drive-and-dish that was the game's key play: "I was looking for Jon (Brockman) coming off, but all the Oregon players sunk in (to the lane) and I just saw the little blonde guy over there and I knew if I just threw it over there, he'd hit it."

The Sonics become the first pro sports franchise to argue in court that they provide no economic benefit to the city they're in.

The UW wants $150 million from us to pay for the renovation of Husky Stadium. The money would come from the hotel/motel and rental car tax that's paid for other local stadium.

This P-I photo tour shows some of the damage to the existing stadium.

Six Seahawks had surgery yesterday, most notably Shaun Alexander.

Patrick Kerney will have a shoulder operation. He'll miss the Pro Bowl, as will Walter Jones, who's having surgery on the same part of his body.

The Knicks may want to trade for Luke Ridnour.

No interesting names on the list of non-roster invitees to M's camp.

Here's the new alignment for Kingco sports teams. It will be different for team and individual sports.
