It's Good to Have Ichiro Back

Ichiro had his annual spring training press gathering with the media and, as usual, was candid and hilarious.

On fashion [P-I]: "Although I enjoy (what I wear), all my teammates don't think that what I'm wearing is good fashion. A lot of times, they can't believe what I am wearing, but if you ask my opinion, everything they are wearing is a crime."

On why he's happy that the other two outfielders are plodders Raul Ibanez and Brad Wilkerson [Times]: "If the other corner outfielders have too much speed and too much ability and try to do too much, it's hard for me."

On John McLaren's contention that Ichiro could steal 70 bases [TNT]: "If I get 70 steals, I will probably get thrown out 70 times also, so if you are willing to get me thrown out 70 times I am willing to go for 70."

On the Erik Bedard trade [Times]: "We made a big trade, something that is the biggest of my career with the Seattle Mariners. What I mean by that is, it was a trade in which we didn't try to avoid risk. To gain power, sometimes you have to take a big risk. And I think the Mariners showed that by making that move."
