Valentine's Day Game vs. Oregon Is, Happily, Not on TV

Tomorrow's game at Oregon isn't going to be on TV, the Times' Bob Condotta informs us, unless you pay $14.95 to get ESPN Full Court.

Stepping away from my desire to see every Husky game, and disgust with the various arcane network rules, I see that this is a good thing.

It is, after all, Valentine's Day, and most of us probably don't need the temptation of a Husky game beaming through the airwaves while we're at dinner with our s.o.'s.

I'm envisioning this scenario:

"That was a wonderful dinner, honey. Thanks. I love you."

"Hey, no problem. Oh look! There's this wonderful sports bar here, why don't we just step inside get a dri...OH MY GOD THAT WAS NOT A FOUL!"

And then you are sleeping alone for a month.

On a somewhat related note, a couple of years ago when Garfield and Franklin played on Valentines Day, I was single and went to the game with my roommate, who's girlfriend was out of town.

We joked that you wouldn't see very many guys who were in relationships at this game..but then we did see one: Lorenzo Romar, who was at the game with his wife. She must be a very patient woman, to attend a high school basketball game on Valentines Day.

Don't forget last year when the Huskies/Cougs game was on February 14th.
