USC 73, Washington 59 [ESPN]: Jon Brockman looked tentative on offense--must be his lingering groin injury--and the rest of the team shot like they had inner ear problems. The Dawgs were 2-22 from three point range. O.J. Mayo continued the parade of excellent opponent performances, dropping 29 on the Dawgs.
Washington 3-7 in Pac-10, 12-11 overall. RPI: 127. Next game Sunday vs. UCLA.
UCLA 67, Wazzu 59 [ESPN]: Derrick Low and Kyle Weaver make a pretty good backcourt--but Darren Collison and Russell Westbrook are better. UCLA's top two guards outscored Wazzu's 32-20, and Kevin Love had more offensive boards (5) than the whole Cougar team (4).
Wazzu 5-5 in Pac-10, 17-5 overall. RPI: 25. Next game Saturday vs. USC.
Stanford 72, Oregon 43 [ESPN]: Oregon beat Stanford less than a month ago, now they don't belong in the same gym with them. The Ducks have lost five of six and a 30-point loss would seem to indicate they're on the verge of total collapse. The Ducks had only six assists. SIX!
Oregon 4-6 in Pac-10, 13-9 overall. RPI: 55. Next game Saturday @ Cal.
Cal 81, Oregon St. 76 [ESPN]: The Beavers had a 66-65 lead with less than seven minutes left, then didn't make a field goal until there was less than a minute to go and Cal had opened up a ten point lead. They've lost their last two games by a combined nine points--I'd say a win is imminent.
Oregon St. 0-10 in Pac-10, 6-16 overall. RPI: 243. Next game Saturday @ Stanford.
