Sonics 99, Blazers 87 [NBA.com]: The Blazers' deficiency at point guard glared again, as Steve Blake and Jarret Jack shot 3-19 between them. The Sonics played well in front of one of the biggest crowds of the season, staring on an 8-0 run and never letting the Blazers back in the game. Kevin Durant didn't play in the fourth quarter, with Mickael Gelabale getting his longest run of the season, getting 20 minutes.
Blazers 29-26, 4.5 GB of 8th playoff spot. Next game Sunday vs. Boston.
Sonics 15-39. Next game Sunday vs. Lakers.
Just a note--my roommate pointed out yesterday how incredibly awesome the Western Conference playoffs are going to be...if the season ended today, these would be the first round matchups:
#1 New Orleans vs. #8 Denver
#2 Phoenix vs. #7 Houston
#3 LA vs. #6 Dallas
#4 Utah vs. #5 San Antonio
Good God. Denver, the lowest seed, has a .611 winning percentage.
