Yesterday's Action

#22 Wazzu 70, Cal 49 [ESPN]: Wazzu ran away from the Bears with a 39-point second half. When I saw that Robbie Cowgill got an alley-oop, that's when I knew this thing was over. The Cougs, now guaranteed a winning conference record and a bye in the Pac-10 tourney, would seem to have sewed up an NCAA berth with the win.
Cougs 10-6 in Pac-10, 22-6 overall. RPI: 22. Next game Saturday @ Stanford.

#8 Stanford 82, Washington 79 [ESPN]: The Huskies once again showed that they can play with anybody, nearly upsetting a top-ten team on the road with fantastic performances from Quincy Pondexter (19 points), Jon Brockman (20 and 14) and Joe Wolfinger (12 points in 18 minutes). Adds just another level of frustration--where was this team last Saturday, when a win over ASU could've put them solidly in the NCAA tourney hunt?
Dawgs 6-10 in Pac-10, 15-14 overall. RPI: 118. Next game Saturday @ Cal.

In the boys state 4A tourney:
Decatur, Federal Way, Ferris, and Bellarmine Prep advanced to tonight's semifinals.

In boys 3A districts:
West Seattle advanced to state for the first time in 38 years. Seattle Prep also earned a berth, their second straight after making the tourney only once in the Spencer Hawes years.

Today's action:
M's vs. Giants @ Scottsdale, 12:05pm, KOMO 1000
Miami @ Sonics, 7:30pm, FSN
Lakers @ Blazers, 7:30pm, KGW

4A Boys Semifinals:
Decatur vs. Federal Way, 7:00pm (should be awesome, these are both FW schools).
