Milwaukee 17, Mariners 3 [ESPN]: Eep. Carlos Silva had been working with Mel Stottlemyre on a cut fastball (Andy Pettitte has used said pitch with some success). Needs a little work. Silva allowed seven consecutive hits, all on the cutter. Sean White and Jon Huber also got shelled--it's unclear if they were also trying new pitches. Still, that's what spring is for, right? Richie Sexson homered, his second.
Mariners 5, Texas 2 [ESPN]: Cha Baek threw four scoreless innings, and R.A. Dickey followed with three. Beltre had two doubles--he's been hitting the ball well.
Mariners 9-11. Today is an off day.
