I assume that if you read this blog, you probably read Deadspin as well...but just in case, they asked me to write their M's season preview this year, and I obliged. It ran today, here's the link.
It was a pretty seamless process; Will Leitch, the editor of Deadspin, emailed me about three weeks ago asking me to do it. I wrote it over President's Day weekend, sent it to him, and didn't hear anything back until today, when he asked me for that short bio that runs above the piece (which he actually cut a bit--I tried to sneak in a blurb about how the magazine launches this month, and he shut me down).
As you'll notice if you read it, there was hardly any copy editing at all, it ran pretty much as I wrote it.
Also, in case you're wondering--no $$. (At least it wasn't mentioned, and I haven't seen a check). It's for the love of the game.
That photo is me and my sister at Opening Day last year--it was one of those weird Seattle days where it wasn't sure whether to be overcast and windy, or clear, calm and sunny. As you can see, I picked wrong.
