Non-Seattle Soccer Fans Hold High The Sounders Banner

The "Seattle Sounders" movement has spread beyond the greater Seattle area; the cause is being taken up by fans nationwide, looking to strike a blow for historical memory over what one characterizes as the problem of a league that doesn't want "to recognize soccer tradition before 1996."


Today is the last day to vote on the MLS team name. Based on an extremely unscientific poll (comments to this blog post) "Seattle Sounders" is the preferred choice, narrowly edging out "Seattle Reign" and "Seattle Tsunami."

A reminder--if you want Sounders, make sure you write-in "Seattle Sounders"--not "Sounders" or "Sounders FC" or whatever.
