Yesterday's Action

Cal 84, Dawgs 81 [ESPN]: My thoughts.

Arizona 133, Oregon St. 2 [ESPN]: Ok, not really, but it might as well have been. Arizona scored a Pac-10 tourney record for points in a half by scoring 59 in the first half (and shooting 73%). The Beavers were, frankly, embarrassing in that half, taking tons of quick threes (10 of them, hitting only 1) and playing practically no defense. Oregon State finishes the season 6-25, and with 21 consecutive losses.

Portland St. 67, Northern Arizona 51 [ESPN]: Portland State wins its first berth in the NCAA tournament EVER. Big props to Northwest guy and ex-Husky assistant Ken Bone, the Vikings coach. Portland St. forced 22 NAU turnovers. Guard Deonte Huff had 17 points. Bracketology, anticipating a PSU win, has them as a #15-seed.

Boston 111, Sonics 82 [ESPN]: Do you think Ray Allen gets any joy out of beating this Sonics team? He barely broke a sweat, scoring 18 on 8-10 shooting. Durant had 16 points on 7-14 shooting--continuing his improved shot selection.
Sonics 16-49. Next game Friday vs. Minnesota. Don't be left out in the cold, get your tickets now!

Mariners 5, Milwaukee 1 [ESPN]: Arthur Rhodes pitched for the first time in a year, and got a standing ovation as he came in from bullpen. He then pitched a scoreless inning. Carlos Silva pitched a scoreless five innings, and Mike Morse continued his torrid spring, going 3-4 with 2 ribbies. Save some for the season, Mike!.
Today vs. San Francisco.
