The Hawks have been in the Turkey Day game only once before, in 1986 when they beat Dallas 31-14 on--just like the '08 game--Nov. 27th.
Also of note is that the Hawks play both Super Bowl finalists from last year, which is awesome--fun!--but, from a strictly practical perspective, rather sucks.
UPDATE: As I deal with Sonics madness, and the impending publication of the second issue of the magazine, David Swidler of Seattlest has a much better post about the schedule.

I love the Thanksgiving game, but, what's up with MNF?
San Franciscoat Arizona
Buffalo at Cleveland
Tampa at Carolina...
but no Seattle on MNF.
I am looking forward to November 9th, I may have to attend my first Dolphins game in my 6th year in South Florida.
This should certainly be another playoff season. New York, New England and Dallas scare me, but the Hawks should be favored (or close to it) in the rest. Gotta love no cold-weather games. But I hate (hate hate!) those 10 a.m. Pacific-time games. It would be interesting if someone (nudge nudge, Seth) looked at the team's record in those games over the past few seasons. It seems they always play sluggish and tired and either lose or barely win games they're expected to dominate.
Good times...
