One thing that baseball organizations fail to understand is how much more diehard fans would rather see a team of young guys than a team of free agent purchases. Free agents can only let you down, and they never really feel like a part of the team. Young guys, you'll live and die with.

Then again, maybe they do understand it--it's the casual fans that buy tickets because you've brought in "names" like Richie Sexson and Jose Video and Brad Wilkerson. And the casual fans pay the bills.

Anyway, this is as excited as I've been for a Mariners game all year. Let the fun begin!
