We had a bunch of people handing out the magazine in front of Safeco Field yesterday. And, as you'd expect, a few people redirected their complimentary copies into the garbage.
So the highlight of magazine opening day had to have been when I was peering into one of the garbage cans on the corner of Royal Brougham and 1st, and someone threw the magazine into the trash right in front of me. But then some other guy picked one up of the ground, so that made me feel good.
The May issue is taking shape, we've got a couple of pieces planned about the impact of the Sonics leaving, and we're planning a pretty terrific cover that--well, I don't want to say anything yet, but I think all Sonics fans will get a kick out of it.
More information to follow. I'm headed down to Tacoma today for Rainiers media day--planning a piece for May about the future stars you might see if you check out the Rainiers or the Beavers this year. We'll also have a short bit and some really great photos of guys who've played there in the past.
