Memphis 78, UCLA 63 [Yahoo]: The Bruins had the same problem against run-n-gun Memphis that Wazzu had against run-n-gun UNC. They missed a ton of open perimeter shots, which led to fast breaks by the opponent. Also, Darren Collison was atrocious.
Kansas 84, North Carolina 66 [Yahoo]: By the time UNC figured out how to deal with Kansas' overplays on defense, it was too late--they went 16 possessions without scoring in the first half. A big part of Kansas' run was freshman Cole Aldrich, who had four blocks and made "Psycho T" look ridiculous. If Hansbrough's thinking about going pro...let's just say he'll have more fun in college.
Baltimore 6, Mariners 4 [ESPN]: Sloppy defense and Batista's lack of command killed the M's, though getting only six hits didn't help. Bedard was supposed to face his old team today, but has inflammation in his hip and won't go until Tuesday. Felix pitches today.
M's 2-3, 3rd in AL West, 1.5 GB of Angels. Today vs. Orioles.
DIGRESSION: Check out the AL East standings...Bizarro World!
Tri-Cities 4, T-Birds 0 [Seattle Times]: The T-Birds' best player, likely NHL first round pick Thomas Hickey, didn't play after getting a blow to the head in game one of the series. The Americans' Colton Yellow Horn had a hat trick as Tri-Cities evened the best-of-seven series.
Series tied at 1-1. Next game Tuesday at Key Arena.
Arizona 5, Washington 0 [UW]: Huskies managed just seven hits off two Arizona pitchers.
Washington 2-3 in Pac-10, 19-9 overall. Today vs. Arizona

Actually, Thomas Hickey was taken in the first round in last year's NHL Draft (4th overall by the LA Kings). Hickey was considered first round talent, but not top ten.
