Ha! Ha! Exciting!
Howard Schultz will sue to get the Sonics back, reports Percy Allen of the Seattle Times.
Said Schultz' lawyer, Richard Yarmuth: "The damages that are being sought is to rescind, unwind the transaction. It's not money damage. It's to have the team returned."
We're talking about fraud at the time the contract was signed. It's not merely what activities, good faith or otherwise, were engaged in after the contract was signed so far as lobbying for a new stadium."
This is exactly what Professor Joel Ngugi told us all last week, that it isn't just the question of any side agreement--it's whether the negotiations themselves were done in bad faith.
An SU professor who talked to the Times said that suit was certainly no slam dunk, but that may not matter. It's at least viable, which means that Bennett is now facing lawsuits from two places. That means legal fees, that means more legal discovery--more embarrassing emails.
Not a good place to be.

Any chances we get to see Stern on the stand answering why he fined McClendon but not Bennett for saying the same things? I'd love to see that.
In the eyes of Sonics' fans this would be a "slam dunk", but legally I don't know. One things for sure, this could get real ugly, real fast.
thank you
