Texas 5, Mariners 4 [ESPN]: The Rangers' Josh Hamilton was one of the few players on either team to play well in an error-filled, clutch-hitting-free crapfest. Hamilton made two terrific catches and hit the go-ahead homer off J.J. Putz in the ninth. The M's 2-6 hitters were a combined 0-20, and left 22 runners on the basepaths.
M's 1-1, tied for first with Texas and Anaheim. Today vs. Texas.
Huskies 17, Portland 6 [UW]: Forrest Snow, the first player in Lakeside High history to get drafted, picked up his first college win--in relief--as the Dawgs scored all 17 runs in their final five ups.
Washington 1-2 in Pac-10, 18-8 overall. Next game Friday vs. Arizona at Safeco Field.
T-Birds 4, Kelowna 2 [T-Birds]: With this win in a deciding game seven, the T-Birds advance to the Western Conference semifinals against Tri-Cities. Tri-Cities is the #1 seed in the West, the T-Birds are #4. Games three, four, and six (if necc.) will be at Key Arena, tix for those games go on sale tomorrow at noon via Ticketmaster.
Next game Friday at Tri-Cities, Game 1 of Western Conference Semis.
