Yesterday's Action

Mariners 4, Texas 1 [ESPN]: Jose Lopez' three-run homer put the M's up, and fantastic pitching by Carlos Silva kept them ahead. Sean Green pitched a perfect 8th, then walked a guy to open the 9th, and it was Miguel Batista time. On his throw day between starts, Miggy set the Rangers down in 12 pitches. Woo-hoo!
M's 2-1, tied for first with Anaheim. Next game Friday @ Baltimore.

LA Lakers 104, Blazers 91 [ESPN]: The Blazers got Kobe-fied, as Mamba scored 36, including 14 in the fourth. Portland shot 27 threes in an attempt to keep up with the Lakers. They hit 12 of them, but it wasn't enough.
Portland 38-37. Next game tonight vs. Houston.

LA Clippers 102, Sonics 84 [ESPN]: Anyone who put money on the underdog Clippers was dancing a happy jig when Mike Dunleavy decided that this was the game to bring Elton Brand back. Brand had 13 points in the fourth, while the whole Sonics team managed only 14. Durant had another fantastic game, scoring 30 points on 13-23 shooting.
Sonics 17-58. Next game Friday vs. Rockets.
