McLaren lamented his team's inability to play a team game, telling John Hickey: "I stay up late at night thinking about it. Why would we have breakdowns in a couple of areas, and the next day we break down in another area and the others are good?" ...

The players defend McLaren. Ichiro tells Hickey: "I look at the last three games, and there's nothing he can do, not one move he could have made. And to think about that hurts." ..

(Note: Players will always defend a "players' manager" like McLaren.) ...

TNT's John McGrath suggests that McLaren get an ultimatum: Make it to .500 by June 26 (at which point McLaren will have managed 162 games) or you're out. Says McGrath: "From a distance, it’s appearing as if McLaren – a self-described 'players’ coach' during his tenure as Lou Piniella’s chief assistant – lacks the stern streak required of any leader." Yeah, I'd say that. ...

Hey Seth... what's the likelihood of you finding some GOOD Seattle sports news? Do we have ANY teams at all winning? I don't care how out there the sport is... Husky whirly ball? If we're winning, can you post? I read this blog religiously every day, and frankly... with the state of Seattle sports, it's making me understand why everyone thinks we're all grungy and suicidal.

New assistant Judy Spoelstra

Is this lady related to the "Erik Spoelstra" that was just hired in Miami as the head coach of the Heat?

How bout Husky crew... you know, NCAA invited women and ranked #1 nationally for the men... the last team they lost to was the US National team at HOCR. Google it.

I thought that name sounded familiar.

Not immediate family, I don't think...Judi Spoelstra grew up in Wenatchee and looks like this:

Eric Spoelstra grew up in Portland and looks like this:

I'll ask the UW, though.

What are the odds of being able to find the old "Sonics as superhero team" narrated by the Professor?

Unfortunately, Kaka isn't going to make the Canada-Brazil match due to knee surgery. There should be plenty of other Brazilian talent, though, including Robinho, Pato and Manchester United's Anderson.
