You would be wise not to toss any objects in the direction of UW soph. outfielder Kyle Conley, lest you want them belted four hundred feet.
Conley's on an epic hitting binge that's garnered him Pac-10 player of the week honors twice in a row.
The past two weeks Conley's gone 15-21 with 6 HRs and 18 ribbies. As Kevin Harlan would say, "with no regard for human life!"
Not coincidentally, the Dawgs have gone 7-1, leapfrogging four teams and rising from 8th in the Pac-10 to 3rd.
Now with 16 homers on the year, Conley's got a chance to beat the UW single-season home run record (22, Chad Boudon).
The #30-ranked Dawgs have seven games left: a three-game set at #3 Arizona State this weekend, a mid-week game vs. Lewis & Clark St., and a three-game home series versus Stanford. If the Dawgs can hold onto third place, they'll be assured an NCAA bid (and fourth and fifth place would likely be good enough as well).
