Congrats to Ray Allen. I'm told that on the Mike & Mike show this morning, they asked Allen who was the first person he thought of when they won, and he said Sam Presti.
Time for a cheap shot at Kobe? Why not.
Boston fans show their class by rioting. Went to St. Andrews Bar in Greenlake just after the game--there were two meatheads in Celtics jerseys, and one had a girl in a hot pink miniskirt sitting on his lap, making out with them. It was like I'd been beamed to Sully's in Newton.
The best Sonics trial coverage comes from Percy Allen at the Times (though ignore that stuff about the economist getting slammed, that wasn't as big a deal as people think it was). Clay-Clay is back on the stand this morning. Also testifying today--Sonics Death Watch author Sherman Alexie!
The funniest coverage though, is this brilliant piece by SupersonicSoul, imagining if Clay Bennett were testifying in Judge Judy's court.
Felix Hernandez struck out the side on nine pitches yesterday, that's only the 13th time in AL history someone's done that. Hernandez got his sixth win of the year after Morrow blew away the Marlins in the ninth.
Jeff Clement will catch at least 60% of the time, John McLaren tells Geoff Baker.
The M's will release Richie Sexson soon, according to Kirby Arnold of the Herald, who heard it from a source in the organization.
When the M's play the Braves on Friday, it'll be the debut of a huge mechanical cow in the Turner Field outfield.
John McGrath of TNT presents his list of GMs who were worse than Bill Bavasi. He has to reach out to football to get ten of them, so...
USS Mariner has an exhaustive list of the potential Bavasi replacements.
Maybe we don't want Thierry Henry.
Lofa Tatupu pled not guilty to a DUI today--not because he's denying the charges, said his lawyer, but to keep his options open as far as settling the case.
Former Sealth star Regina Rogers, who's left UCLA, to is transfering to Washington, writes Molly Yanity. Regina is the daughter of former Husky and NFL linebacker Reggie Rogers.
You may celebrate the career of Seattle-born Charlie Greene, who won a gold medal in the 4x100 at the 1968 Olympics, but I prefer to hold a grudge because he chose O'Dea over his neighborhood school, Garfield.
Joe Alexander worked out for the Blazers yesterday and professed his love of Portland. Roy, Fernandez, Alexander, Aldridge, Oden. Holy shit.

Completely Unfair Immature Comment of the Week:
When the M's play the Braves on Friday, it'll be the debut of a huge mechanical cow in the Turner Field outfield.
Jose Vidro is going to play in the outfield?!?!
We still should do everything we can to get Henry.
However, Barça just said the other day that they don't see Eto'o, Ronaldino, or Deco staying with the club, so maybe they'll be wanting to keep Henry there?
Regardless, I hope Sounders get him.
It really wasn't a "blunder" by Henry. The shot pinballed off his leg as the goalie committed in the opposite direction. It's not as if he passed it back past his goalie.
Just an unfortunate deflection. But if it helps him decide he'd rather play for an overwhelmingly supportive fan base in Seattle, call it whatever you want. I'll take him over Beckham in a heartbeat
Thank you very much for this useful article. I like it.
